Before joining Lumileds as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Adams most recently served as President of Micron Technology, Inc. a Fortune 200 global manufacturer of advanced memory solutions, from 2012 to 2016.
Between 2008 and 2012, Mr. Adams held the position of Vice President, Worldwide Sales at Micron. He also served in executive roles at Lexar Media, Inc., Creative Labs, Inc. and NCR Corporation. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1987 from Boston College and his MBA in 1995 from Harvard University. Mr. Adams currently sits on the board of directors at Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and Seagate Technology plc.
Dr. Jy Bhardwaj is Chief Technology Officer of Lumileds – the leading global light engine company that supplies high-quality LED components to the downstream segments of the lighting and consumer industries as well as LED and conventional lamps to the automotive industry.
Mr. Bhardwaj joined Philips Lumileds in May of 2010. Prior to joining, he served 7 years at JDSU where he held a number of senior management positions including CTO of Optical Communications after over 6 years of business unit leadership, including most recently, Vice-President and General Manager of Agile Optical Networks, which includes JDSU's market leading optical transport product lines. Mr. Bhardwaj joined JDSU through an acquisition of Scion Photonics; a silicon valley based optical chip start up, where he served as the CEO.
Prior to Scion, Mr. Bhardwaj served as CTO at STS, a Sumitomo Precision Products company, developing and manufacturing semiconductor capital equipment. During his tenure, STS saw over 5 years of strong growth culminating in an IPO on the AIM in London at the end of 2000.
Mr. Bhardwaj holds a Ph.D and B.Eng degrees from Liverpool University.
Mr. Buzgar-Nazare is Sr. VP of Automotive Lamps at Lumileds. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the Automotive and Lighting Industries.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Buzgar-Nazare served as General Manager of Automotive Lamps within Philips Automotive Lighting – a business group of Royal Philips dedicated to providing best in-class lighting solutions in the Automotive Aftermarket and Original Equipment Manufacturer and Supplier markets (OEM, OES).
Previously, Mr. Buzgar-Nazare was the Head of Operations for HID, a global business unit of Philips Lighting. He was located in Shanghai, China. He joined Royal Philips in 1995.
In earlier roles, Mr. Buzgar-Nazare served as General Manager of Philips Automotive Playback Modules Europe, a Philips company that designed and manufactured Navigation systems for the Car Industry. He also held the position of General Manager Tubular Lighting, a Philips company that designs and manufactures fluorescent lighting solutions.
Throughout his career, Mr. Buzgar-Nazare worked and lived in South Africa, Asia, Europe, and in the USA. His professional career covered the areas of Product Development, Head of Large Global Operations and General Management.
A South African and Romanian citizen, Mr. Buzgar-Nazare holds a MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Timisoara Romania.
Nathalie Carruthers is Chief HR Officer. Ms. Carruthers brings more than 20 years of HR experience to her role. Prior to her current position, Mrs. Carruthers served at Flextronics International where she held a number of HR roles. In her last role, as the Vice-President, Talent, Rewards and Systems she led global talent management, talent acquisition and total Rewards as well as HR Systems.
Prior to Flextronics International, Mrs. Carruthers held progressive HR roles with Solectron Corporation and General Dynamics. Her roles included the development of compensation strategies, HR Business Partner for Solectron’s Chief Financial Officer and WW Operations Leader as well as leading regional HR Operations teams.
Ms. Carruthers has broad experience across all HR disciplines including talent management, rewards, talent acquisition, organization design, mergers and acquisitions, engagement and culture work.
Ms. Carruthers began her career with The Conference Board of Canada, Canada’s foremost independent not-for-profit applied research organization in Canada, as a Research Associate and network Manager within the Compensation Research Centre.
Ms. Carruthers holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Ottawa.
Alex Kirk is Vice-President Quality & Automotive LED. Prior to his current position, Mr. Kirk served as Vice-President and General Manager of the Category Automotive LED within Philips Automotive Lighting – a business group of Royal Philips dedicated to providing best in-class lighting solutions in the Automotive Aftermarket and Original Equipment Manufacturer and Supplier markets (OEM, OES).
Previously, Mr. Kirk was the General Manager of Singapore Operations at Philips Lumileds where he also served as Senior Director of Lean Operations, responsible for driving and implementing lean operations worldwide in both Supply Chain and Operations.
In total, he brings 25 years of experience within the semiconductor and components industry holding various management roles in manufacturing, supply chain, innovation and development, and lean operations as well as his current business management role. Starting his career in the United Kingdom, he has subsequently worked in the Netherlands, China, Singapore and the USA.
As a native of Scotland, Mr. Kirk holds a BSc in Technology and Business Studies from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
Ajay Marathe is Chief Operating Officer, LED. Prior to his current position, Mr. Marathe served as Senior Vice-President of Operations at Philips Lumileds – a business group of Royal Philips he joined in October 2011. He brings extensive operations executive expertise encompassing both the semiconductor and solar industries of over 30 years.
Mr. Marathe started his career at AMD in Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership positions, providing him with a strong foundation for his later roles including Corporate Vice-President of Operations for the Computation Products Group and President of AMD India. As President of AMD India, Mr. Marathe was responsible for growing AMD’s India business, expanding it from zero to 25% market share in two short years.
Mr. Marathe has also provided leadership to the Semiconductor Group of Reliance Industries as CEO. He also served as Senior Vice-President of Operations at Solaria, the solar module manufacturer. Mr. Marathe holds a MS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Texas Tech University where he was felicitated as one of their “Distinguished Engineers” in year 2006.
Falk Meissner serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Lumileds. Prior to his current position, Dr. Meissner was Vice-President of Strategy at Philips Lumileds – a business group of Royal Philips.
At Lumileds, Dr. Meissner leads the corporate strategy function, M&A and partnership activities, and the development of new business fields and business models. He brings extensive leadership experience in strategy and operational roles.
Prior to joining Philips Lumileds, Dr. Meissner worked in the semiconductor and high-tech industry with a leading consulting company, McKinsey & Company. Focus areas included corporate and business unit strategy, M&A, product development, operations transformations, and turnarounds.
As a native of Germany, Dr. Meissner holds a Doctorate in Nuclear Physics from the Humboldt University of Berlin. After graduating, he also performed several years of Physics research work in the Nuclear Science Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Keaton Parekh is the Chief Intellectual Property Officer. Mr. Parekh brings more than 20 years of litigation and intellectual property law experience to his role. With a background in litigation, licensing, mergers and acquisitions, patent prosecution, and commercial sales, Keaton brings a strategic focus to the development of a patent portfolio for competitive advantage.
Mr. Parekh joined Lumileds from SanDisk, where he was the Chief Licensing Counsel. Prior to SanDisk, he served as General Counsel at Digital Optics Corporation and Vice-President of IP at Tessera Technologies. In these roles, he led the intellectual property departments in developing strategic patent portfolios, managing IP valuations, structuring strategic licensing deals, and conducting negotiations in the semiconductor industry.
While in private practice, Mr. Parekh was a partner at the international law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery where he focused his practice on IP litigation and client counseling. He began his career as a patent attorney at the New York office of Stroock Stroock & Lavan and the Silicon Valley office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Mr. Parekh has a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law in New York City and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Pascal Popis is Sr. VP, Sales & Marketing Automotive. In addition, Mr. Popis also has responsibility for Aftermarket Strategic Marketing.
With a proven track record in both B2B and B2C international commercial leadership roles, Mr. Popis brings more than 20 years of experience to the position.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Popis served as Senior Vice-President for Philips Automotive Lighting EMEA - a business group of Royal Philips dedicated to providing best in-class lighting solutions in the Automotive Aftermarket and Original Equipment Manufacturer and Supplier markets (OEM, OES). Prior to that, he served as Vice-President Automotive Aftermarket Europe.
In earlier roles, Mr. Popis was the General Manager Professional Lamps France and IKAM Rexel at Philips Lighting. He also served as Senior Commercial Director Professional Lamps and Luminaires for France.
Mr. Popis holds a Diplôme de Grande Ecole from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Montpellier, France.
Remco van der Veer is Lumileds Chief Legal Officer. He brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in legal and compliance positions.
Mr. van der Veer joined Lumileds in July 2015 after having served at Samsung Electronics Benelux where he was the General Counsel and Head of Legal & Compliance and a member of the Senior Management team.
Prior to that, Mr. van der Veer served as Legal Director at DAF Trucks where he provided legal advice on general contracting, collections, financial matters (including leasing), real estate and litigations. In this position, he was also responsible for the development and roll-out of compliance trainings, corporate governance and set-up of new ventures.
Previously, Mr. van der Veer was Senior Legal Counsel Corporate & Compliance at ASML Holding. His responsibilities included external reporting, capital market transactions, insider trading prevention, joint ventures and corporate governance.
His prior roles include Senior Associate Corporate & Commercial Law and Associate Notarial & Corporate at NautaDutilh (Rotterdam and London offices).
Mr. van der Veer is a dynamic Senior Legal Leader with demonstrated success leading legal and compliance affairs both in-house and independently.
A native of the Netherlands, Mr. van der Veer received his master’s degree in Law from Leiden University. He also pursued several post-doc specialty courses.
